ZINK CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Education

One of the best ways to enhance the enjoyment of life is to pursue passions and interests.  Education makes this pursuit possible.  Anheuser-Busch values the impact education has on individual lives and the community as a whole through support to organizations. Our goal is to support programs and organizations that provide access to and successful completion of higher education degrees.

We are proud to work with these partners:

Hispanic Scholarship Fund: During his 2010 and 2011 concert tour, Mexican singing legend Vicente “El Rey” Fernández, along with Budweiser, brought together two of his passions—music and education—to help raise funds for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). As part of Budweiser’s longtime commitment to the Hispanic community, El Rey and the King of Beers donated a scholarship to a local college student for each of the performances on his tour. Anheuser-Busch provided $200,000 for this special partnership program. In total, Anheuser-Busch provided the HSF with closer to $1 million in support in the last two years, including donating $500 to the HSF for each goal scored during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa. Since 1982, Anheuser-Busch, Budweiser and our wholesalers have donated more than $24 million to HSF, the nation’s leading non-profit organization that supports Hispanic higher education.

The Anheuser-Busch Foundation also matches employee contributions to educational institutions and funds through the Matching Gift Program, which matches up to $5,000 a year for each individual donor. Through the Matching Gift Program, Anheuser-Busch and our employees have provided nearly $13 million to support education over the last five years.

UNCF: To live up to the ideal expressed in UNCF’s universally-recognized motto, ”A mind is a terrible thing to waste,”® UNCF helps students go to and through college by awarding 10,000 students each year through 400 scholarship and internship programs so that students from low- and moderate-income families can afford college tuition, books and room and board.  Partners for more than 35 years, Anheuser-Busch and its Foundation have given millions of dollars to support the mission on the UNCF. Including our founding sponsorship of the UNCF An Evening of Stars® in 1974.

Teach For America: The Anheuser-Busch Foundation donated $150,000 to the Teach For America Corps–St. Louis, which Anheuser-Busch has supported since the program first came to St. Louis. Anheuser-Busch executives, including North America Zone president Luiz Edmond, were also guest teachers at St. Louis public schools, visiting the classrooms of Teach For America teachers to impart lessons that draw on their experience in business and beyond.
